Kloof Street Blend

Our daily worker. Sweet, settled and impossible to argue with.

  • Toffee
  • Red apple
  • Rooibos honey

Our beans

Three farms.
One copper drum.

We buy from three growers we phone by name, land the beans in Cape Town harbour, and roast them four kilometres up the hill.

Ethiopia · Guji

Washed heirloom · 2 100 m

Florals that hum. White peach, jasmine and a finish that behaves like a good Chenin.

02

Burundi · Kayanza

Natural bourbon · 1 800 m

Sun-dried in the cherry. Red berries, cola sweetness, a body that fills the room.

03

Colombia · Huila

Washed caturra · 1 600 m

The backbone of the blend. Cocoa, hazelnut and demerara that holds milk beautifully.

The roastery

A 1962 drum,
rebuilt bolt by bolt.

We found her rusting in a Salt River scrapyard and spent a year bringing her back. Copper holds heat like nothing else, so every batch turns slow and even. Twelve kilograms at a time, logged by hand, cupped before it leaves the building.

No guesswork, no burnt edges hiding behind the word bold. Just careful heat and beans that earned it.

The people behind the bar

Six of us, one drum, and a dog named Crema. Between the roast days we pull shots, argue about grind size, and taste everything twice. If your cup is not right, tell us. We will make it again and mean it.

The shelf

Fresh from the drum.
